Problem
Open-air markets are congested and hard to navigate.
Severe open-air market congestion, difficulty discovering specialized vendor booths, and rush-hour queue drop-offs.
Solution
A touchscreen kiosk for finding vendors and checking out.
- Interactive venue map with category zoning (Produce, Hot Foods, Crafts)
- Dietary preference filtering (Organic, Vegan, Local)
- Rapid self-service kiosk checkout prototype

Three clear entry points
Map, Search and Rent a Bag on the first screen, aimed at vendor discovery and rush-hour queues.

Find a booth on the map
A venue map with a 'you are here' marker and a route to the vendor, for open-air congestion.

Search by what you want
Search surfaces specialized vendors without walking every aisle.

Take the route with you
Send the directions to your phone and step away from the kiosk.

Research
GrownByFarm FinderA competitive analysis of GrownBy and Farm Finder revealed a zero-solution gap for physical, in-person markets. Field affinity mapping and vendor and shopper interviews grounded the problem in what happens at the market itself.

Prototype and recognition
Interactive walkthroughs of the map, search and bag rental flows. The project was selected as a Showcase Winner at The Basement.
